Optimising Your App’s Presence in the App Store: Top Tips from Apple

This week, the Sudor team had an insightful meeting with Apple, where they shared their top tips on how to optimise your app’s presence in the App Store. Here’s a breakdown of the key strategies they recommend:

1. Offer a Free Trial

One of the most effective ways to attract new users is by offering a free trial. This allows potential customers to experience the benefits of your app without any initial cost. Not sure how long the trial should be? Apple suggests a 7-day free trial for optimum conversion rates. This period is long enough for users to explore and appreciate your app, increasing the likelihood of them subscribing after the trial ends.

2. Share High Quality Content

High-quality content is crucial in demonstrating the value of your app. Ensure that your app provides significant value to users by consistently updating it with quality content. Apple also emphasises the importance of compelling visuals. Include high-resolution screenshots and at least one video that showcases the inside of your app. Additionally, a clear and concise value proposition within your App Store description can turn casual browsers into loyal customers.

3. Reviews are Persuasive

User reviews are a powerful tool for persuasion. Encourage your users to review your app and provide feedback. Sudor’s platform can automatically prompt users to rate your app, making it easier for you to gather valuable reviews. Don’t forget to share these reviews and feedback on social media to further motivate other users to share their experiences. Positive reviews can significantly enhance your app’s credibility and appeal.

4. App Store Features Work

Getting your app featured in the App Store can dramatically boost its visibility. While it might seem challenging, there’s a strategic approach to improve your chances. Plan ahead for seasonal events like Women’s Month, Pride Month, or Earth Day, and create relevant features, campaigns, or challenges. Inform us at least 8 weeks in advance so we can submit a feature request for you. Apple has a dedicated team of journalists who look for apps to promote during these special campaigns, particularly favoring smaller apps with unique offerings.

5. Win-back Campaigns

Retaining users and winning back those who have churned is crucial for sustained growth. Apple can assist with strategies specifically designed to re-engage churned clients. If you’re interested in activating this for your app, contact us at vip@sudor.fit. To be effective, your app should have at least 200 clients paying through Apple, and you should be willing to offer a discount to entice churned users back.

Implementing these strategies can significantly enhance your app’s presence and success in the App Store. For more detailed guidance and support, feel free to reach out to us at Sudor. Let’s work together to make your app a standout success!
