Small Changes, Big Results

Like any goal you’re trying to reach - when you’re putting in the time and effort, you’re probably hoping to see some major results. And when it comes to working out, there’s absolutely no exception.

Sometimes, no matter how hard it feels like you’re working, you’re just not seeing the changes you’re after. So, what can you do? Here are 3 small tweaks that we believe can make a real difference to what you’re getting out of your training sessions.

  1. Grab an extra set of weights - Though it’s smart to start small when you’re new to lifting, if you’re consistently working with weights that are too light, they might not be challenging your muscles enough. Remember, discomfort is what eventually leads to growth.

  2. Know your staple movements and come back to them - Having variety in your workouts is critical for building well-rounded fitness. However, it can also be beneficial to return to the same moves every now and then. While it may seem a little monotonous at the time, re-performing similar movements is a great way to monitor and track your progress. Maybe you find you can now do more reps before you need a break, or a movement that used to feel awkward now comes with more ease; repetition in small doses will help you appreciate strength gains you otherwise may not notice.

  3. Ask the professionals - There’s nothing more demotivating than feeling like you’re not seeing progress when you think you should be, which is why it can help to run your goals by a fitness expert. Whether it’s an in-person chat or an online interaction, getting guidance on realistic goals to set and how to achieve them is a sure-fire way to ensure you stick with your workout routine in the long run.

So you see, sometimes all it takes is a fairly simple change to turn a mediocre training session into one that's genuinely effective, and we hope with these tips and tricks you can start getting the most out of yours!
