The Community Catalyst: Top 4 Tips for Community Building and Engagement

As wellness and fitness creators, the way in which you interact with your clients is a huge foundational element of running your business. By consistently showing up to support and guide them, clients are not only more likely to feel a sense of empowerment in themselves but a far greater connection to both you and your work, fostering a space that is safe and encouraging for your community to blossom and grow.

Take Sudor for example - our in-app community and chat function offers the perfect platform for our Sudor trainers and their subscribers to gather, share and converse; and after seeing its success, we thought it was only fitting to share some insights of our own.

Tip 1: Be Attentive

We can all agree, no one likes to make a comment or ask a question only to be met with the sound of crickets. Just as you would for a new business enquiry, responding promptly to your existing clients, and with a value-laden answer whenever necessary, is the key to not only letting them know they are heard and important but retaining them as part of your community in the long-run too.

Tip 2: Celebrate The Wins

In addition to you publicly sharing about your client’s success stories, it’s just as important to create a space where your community feels comfortable and encouraged to brag about their wins too. This is a great way to not only build a sense of drive and motivation across the rest of the group by seeing the progress everyone else is reaching, but at the same time also strengthen their overall bond and connection as everyone cheers one another along.

Tip 3: Normalise The Fails

Despite the almost reflexive response for humans to want to hide their failures, speaking about them openly could actually have an even more powerfully positive effect! Encouraging your community to be honest about their journey, sharing the good and bad, is a far greater mindset to instil in them; illuminating the fact that they shouldn’t give up just because things didn’t go as planned, but rather accept and welcome failure as a natural part of the process instead.

Tip 4: Include Your Community In The Conversation

And what we mean by this, is that it’s not only important to build a community so that your client’s feel engaged and connected, doing so is also a great way for YOU to help improve yourself and your business too. By inviting them to share their feedback, queries or concerns; you will be able to receive valuable insight about your services, allowing you to evolve your offering as a whole.

Building a strong community is of benefit to everyone involved! Not only does this allow you create more support and value for your clients, but it also provides even further visibility into how you can constantly grow as a brand and business so as to best serve them too.
