Practice Makes Perfect

It’s no secret that the world of online health and fitness has drastically shifted our ways of exercising; and with the ever-increasing popularity of hybrid teaching, online training is definitely here to stay.

While it really is as simple as partnering with a platform who you feel best meets your unique and individual needs as a creator, the way in which you share your content should not be underestimated. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of best practices so that you too can provide your subscribers with the best possible at-home workout experience!

Perfect Your Setup:

Although it’s not necessary to buy the most expensive equipment to create your online content (in fact, most of our Sudor trainers just use their phones!); it’s of the utmost importance that your subscribers are able to clearly see, hear and follow along with you at all times. A good place to start is with your light, and natural lighting when recording is our number one tip! A decent quality microphone is also a must-have, especially if the workouts that you are explaining are slightly more complicated or require a number of steps.

Test your Setup Before Your Teach:

Once you are 100% happy with your setup, it may be worthwhile testing the overall experience to ensure that your lighting, camera angle and sound are all up to scratch before you commence actually recording your session. Whether it’s doing a quick film of certain movements or roping in a friend or fellow trainer to do a run through of the class with you beforehand, it’s crucial to double-check that everything translates well on the subscriber’s end.

Alert Your Subscribers About Your Content:

From newsletters to push notifications, alerting your subscribers about your latest content is a great way to not only keep your brand top of mind but at the same time create a sense of excitement and anticipation for them about joining your class. By notifying them (especially about your live sessions), your subscribers are also able to properly schedule their workouts with you into their busy schedules.

Focus On Subscriber Safety:

The reality of teaching an online class is that it is now more difficult to monitor your clients and ensure that they are performing their workouts safely and in the correct form. Therefore, carefully planning out your lessons is key. In addition, we also suggest providing a variety of movement variations so as to cater to the diverse fitness needs of your audience, creating a space where they feel comfortable and not pressured to push themselves or over-perform.
